High School

Students may elect to complete their AISL requirements through our non-IB courses, with courses taken through Global Online Academy, or electing IB courses. Each student chooses which pathway is best suited to their strengths and future academic goals, with close guidance from the IB Coordinator and college counselor.

AISL is an approved International Baccalaureate World School. In grades 11 and and 12, AISL students have the opportunity to be academically prepared for admission to the university or college of their choice in the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. All students have the opportunity to take IB courses and earn an AISL High School Diploma. Students may sit for IB exams and may earn IB Certificates or the full IB Diploma in addition to the AISL HS Diploma. Instruction is in English and only advanced speakers of English are admitted to the high school program. In order to graduate with the AISL High School Diploma students must meet the following requirements after eight semesters of successful completion of a High School curriculum:

Twenty-six credits are required for graduation with one credit earned for each full year of passing work in a course. Specific credit requirements include: English (4 credits), Math (4 credits), World Languages (3 credits), Sciences (3 credits), Social Sciences (3 credits), Health and Physical Education (2 credits), The Arts (1 credits), Electives (6 credits)

In addition, students must complete student initiated service-learning activities in the 11th and 12th grade years.
