Welcome to the final chapter of the Eagle journey.Our High School (Grades 9–12) empowers every Eagle to discover their strengths, pursue their passions, and prepare for success beyond graduation. In a supportive international community, students are challenged academically while developing the confidence, character, and leadership skills to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Students in Grades 9–10 continue the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme before progressing to the prestigious IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11–12, while also earning the globally recognized American High School Diploma. Guided by our experienced College Counselor, every student receives personalized university planning and application support, helping our graduates earn admission to leading colleges and universities around the world.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (or IBDP for short) is a challenging, externally assessed and moderated, two-year course of study. Academically comprehensive and globally recognized, the IB Diploma program prepares students for entry to university systems all over the world. It is a philosophically coherent program of studies that seeks to develop in students not only a respect for intellectual rigor in the arts and sciences but also an appreciation of internationalism, global awareness, and social service.

IB Diploma Core

Made up of the three required components, the DP core aims to broaden students’ educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and skills. The three required core components are:

Theory of Knowledge (ToK), in which students reflect on the nature of knowledge and on how we know what we claim to know.
The Extended Essay (EE), which is an independent, self-directed piece of research, finishing with a 4,000-word paper.
Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), in which students complete a project related to those three concepts.

DP Subject Groups

In order to obtain the IB Diploma, students must satisfy the curricular requirements of six IB subjects taken concurrently during the last two years of high school.

Group 1: Studies in Language and Literature
Group 2: Language Acquisition
Group 3: Individuals and Societies
Group 4: Sciences
Group 5: Mathematics
Group 6: The Arts (Students may opt to study an additional sciences, individuals and societies, or languages course, instead of a course in the arts).

University and Career Counseling

Preparation for career and university starts in high school. Grade 10 students take a comprehensive career assessment (Morrisby Assessment), and they are advised by the Middle School/High School Counselor, the IBDP Coordinator, and their teachers in choosing the appropriate IB DP program subjects for Grades 11 and 12.

The University/Career Advisor meets with all students and on occasion, parents, to advise and guide them through the university application process (or other post-secondary opportunities). Read more about how this service prepares our students for a successful future here.

Additional Programs

Advisory

The Advisory Program is a support system designed to help students feel a sense of belonging and connection to the High School. Each student is assigned to a teacher advisor who is responsible for overseeing that student's total performance and involvement in the High School. This program is enriched through lessons and special programs focused on self concept/identity, relationship building, child protection, responsible decision making, conflict resolution, community engagement, etc.

Student Support Services

The High School is committed to supporting the learning needs of all students. Our Student Support Service Program - English for Academic Purposes, Learning Support, Counseling - ensures that all students have equitable access to learning and opportunities to set goals and pursue different pathways to achieve goals. Through an inclusive and nurturing educational environment, students are encouraged to become independent, lifelong learners in a global society.

Community Engagement

Community Engagement (service learning) is integrated into the High School curriculum. Students have an opportunity to work with their peers, teachers, and advisors on projects that have a positive positive impact on the school campus as well as local and global communities. Through Community Engagement, our High School students understand what it means to create a just and sustainable world.

Technology

Students use technology in the High School to amplify learning and increase their abilities to communicate, collaborate, express themselves creatively, think critically, and solve problems. Students leverage technology- hardware and applications- to enhance their understanding of content areas, connect to their learning community, and understand the world around them. Students are creators of content, not just consumers of content, finding original ways to demonstrate their learning through new tools. High School students also learn what it means to be a responsible digital citizen.
