Primary (EC/ES) Connect - 9 May 2025

Dear Primary Families,

A GLIMPSE INTO CORE VALUES WEEK

This week at AISL, students focused on our five core values that help guide how we learn, play, and grow together as a community. Each value is linked to a special color to help students connect with them in meaningful ways: Yellow for respect, green for responsibility, blue for empathy, orange for courage, and red for integrity. Through class discussions, stories, and daily interactions, students explored what these values look like in action—from showing kindness and honesty to taking initiative and standing up for others.

To bring these ideas to life, the Grade 2 students created Kumihimo, a traditional Japanese braided cord, using all five colors to represent each value. The colorful cords were woven into friendship bracelets, reminding us that when we practice these values, we help strengthen our community—one kind act at a time.

MURAL MAGIC: Painting a Path to Partnership

We are thrilled to share an inspiring update from the AISL Elementary Student Council!

This week, we had the pleasure of hosting the Tarkwa Bay Student Council at our school, where students from both schools worked collaboratively to brainstorm their initial ideas for the mural that will be painted in both schools. It was heartwarming to witness our school's mission in action: “AISL provides exceptional learning experiences within a global community where all voices count.” under the guidance of our Elementary Art Teacher, Ms. Regina and the Student Council Advisors, Ms. Ania, Ms. Rachel, and Ms. Victoria.

Well done to our Student Ambassadors who enthusiastically took ownership, warmly welcomed everyone, and showed great initiative in their collaborative efforts with their peers from Tarkwa Bay. This partnership represents more than just a mural; it reflects a beautiful narrative of connection, creativity, and community building .

We are excited about the ongoing development of our partnership with Tarkwa Bay, and the active involvement of our elementary students in service learning. The mural is just the beginning of a wonderful journey, and we can't wait to see how it unfolds!
