Primary (EC/ES) Connect - 12 September 2025

Dear Primary Families,

We can’t believe we’re already one month into the 25–26 school year! These first weeks have been filled with energy, creativity, and joy around learning. Our bulletin boards are bursting with student work that celebrates this exciting start.

MEET THE PRIMARY PRINCIPAL CANDIDATES

Please join us on Thursday, September 18 at 7:45 - 9:00 AM to meet the Primary Principal candidates.

For this search process, we will have all three candidates on campus on the same days, so you can meet with them at the same time.  We will have a moderated panel discussion where the candidates will introduce themselves and pre-submitted questions will be answered by each of the candidates.

At the end of the panel discussion, all present parents will have an opportunity to provide feedback using a QR code-guided survey. For your convenience, the CVs, letters of reference, and statements of educational philosophy will be shared 24 hours prior to the meeting. We would do this sooner, however, candidates are still informing their current school of their finalist visit. We look forward to having your participation in providing feedback on the appointment of AISL's next Primary Principal.

If you would like to offer a question to be asked, please submit it here by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 17.  Thank you in advance for your support!

COMMUNITY BOARD MEETING

The AISL Board cordially invites our parents to attend the upcoming Community Board Meeting on 16 September at 7:45-8:45 AM in RM A300 in the ALC (new building, top floor, multi-purpose room).

The AISL Board welcomes the opportunity to meet, hear, and share our collective perspectives on AISL. The Board looks forward to your participation so we can continue to work together in partnership to best serve our students.

AFTERSCHOOL SUPERVISION

We understand that some Primary students need to remain on campus until their siblings in Secondary are dismissed. Students who are not attending an ASA and/or who are waiting for a sibling must stay in the Primary playground during this time.

Supervision is provided on the playground. Students may request a pass to go to the restroom or the canteen to purchase a snack but must return to the playground immediately. They are not allowed to hang out in other areas of the campus. Please note that students are not permitted to use any devices during this time.

If a student has difficulty remaining in the specified areas and/or doesn’t follow the rules, parents will be contacted and students will need to be picked up at their regular dismissal time. We kindly ask you to speak with your child about following these safety expectations.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep all students safe and supervised.
