Dear Primary Families,
INTERNATIONAL DAY
We are excited to share that AISL’s International Day will be held on February 6th and 7th, an event that promises to be both educational and inspiring for our entire community.
This year, our theme is “Global Mosaic: A Celebration of Arts,” highlighting the vibrant diversity and cultural expressions from around the world.
On February 6th, students in EC-G8 will embark on an immersive journey as they “travel around the world” within the school. Each primary homeroom and secondary advisory class has selected a country to represent, chosen at random from a hat.
The excitement will continue on February 7th with our International Day Assembly. This special event will include performances that celebrate the arts through music, dance, and storytelling. The assembly will also feature a Parade of Nations, where students will proudly represent their home countries.
International Day is a celebration of our shared humanity and the rich cultural tapestry that makes up our global community. We look forward to celebrating with you and hope this event fosters an even deeper appreciation for the world’s diverse traditions and artistic heritage.
Below you will find the countries that each Primary homeroom will focus on.
If you are traveling over the break and happen to visit any of the countries represented, please keep our International Day in mind. Additionally, if your family is from, visited, or lived in any country that is represented, we warmly invite you to volunteer to share any contributions related to the arts.
EARLY DISMISSAL on THANKSGIVING DAY
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the many things we are grateful for and appreciate all that we have. It’s an opportunity to recognize the importance of our families, communities, and the moments that bring us joy and fulfillment.
To celebrate Thanksgiving, Thursday, 28 November will be a half day and Friday, 29 November there will be no school.
THE PRIMARY DECEMBER CELEBRATION: THE NUTCRACKER PRODUCTION
The Primary December Celebration will be on Dec. 6, at 11:30 AM. All of our students will be involved in a musical production based on the traditional story by E.T.A. Hoffmann and Tchaikovsky's ballet, "The Nutcracker". You will hear Tchaikovsky's music sung by the sweet voices of our students in Grades K-4! 5th Graders will bring this amazing story to life as the actors, backstage, and sound effect crews. Our youngest students in EC will also be featured in a special number.
