We are friends that become family.

I am delighted and honored to welcome you to our website of the American International School of Lagos, AISL, with this brief message. I hope that your browsing will be rewarding, and that you will emerge with an informed sense of this wonderful place of learning. Browse happily, but do not stop there, please. If you are able to visit, we would love to host you. We are located on Victoria Island in the heart of the business and financial center of Lagos, Nigeria.

I came to AISL because it is a compelling school. You will sense this if you visit. Seeing our extraordinary campus, and meeting our people, mean more than can be conveyed by even these enticing virtual images and words of our website. Given our age and grade range, from Early Childhood to the International Baccalaureate Diploma, we are a relatively small school. But our size is a wonderful strength. We are able to grow and maintain close and enduring relationships between parents, staff, and students that give deep meaning to our phrase: We are friends that become family.

AISL is a non-profit, independent day school that serves students ages 3-19. Accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges in the USA, AISL offers an inquiry-based early childhood program and a complementary American/International standards-based program in the Primary School (Grades 1-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and High School (Grades 9-12). AISL students have an opportunity to earn our AISL American High School Diploma as well as the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma. These qualifications, along with the AISL experience, allow students to gain admission to highly competitive colleges and universities around the world.

AISL is a  close-knit school with a diverse community committed to providing students exceptional learning experiences in an environment where, as we say in our Mission, all voices count . Ultimately, we want our students to be equipped to help create a ‘just and sustainable world’. Our talented and committed multinational faculty strives to achieve our mission and vision by challenging students intellectually while supporting their physical, social, and emotional well-being. Working in partnership with parents, AISL supports students to develop their talents holistically, and to pursue their interests and passions in academics, arts, technology, athletics, experiential learning, and global citizenship. AISL also encourages students to develop an appreciation for and understanding of Nigeria and the extraordinary cultures of our host country, as well as to celebrate the diversity and richness of the more than 40 nationalities on campus.

AISL is a values-driven school. Our five core values are these:
Respect, Empathy, Responsibility, Integrity, and Courage. If our values resonate with you, then please reach out to our Admissions Officer, Ms. Jessica Bitrus. She will be happy to guide you and your family through the AISL admissions process

As we say in Nigeria and at AISL, with a genuine depth of meaning, "YOU ARE WELCOME!"

I would love to see you on campus.
