DEIJ or JEDI?
Inspired by our commitment to create a just and sustainable world (AISL Vision), AISL is committed to promoting JUSTICE, EQUITY, DIVERSITY, and INCLUSION (JEDI).
The focus of our JEDI work is as follows:
- Cultivate a diverse and inclusive school community by fostering a safe environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and a sense of belonging.
- Design and implement environments, curricula, and instructional methods that validate and reflect the diversity, identities, and experiences of our students.
- Recruit, retain and develop faculty/staff and leaders of the highest quality by emphasizing excellence and all aspects of diversity in hiring decisions
We use a common language to describe and inform our learning and understanding.
Through our learning and understanding, we foster a sense of hope, an impetus to act, and a firm belief that standing up for justice and inclusion is both the responsible and right thing to do.
