AISL Team Sports

AISL offers the opportunity for students to experience and participate in sports at both the local and international levels. The school fields competitive teams in soccer, volleyball, basketball, and swimming. Both boys and girls competitive teams are held to a high standard of commitment. The expectations for students include attending all practices, remaining in academic good standing, exhibiting a strong work ethic, and demonstrating good sportsmanship.
The school is an active member of the West African International School Athletic League (WAISAL). AISL is proud of the achievements our scholar athletes have accomplished. Last school year AISL won the WAISAL Championship in MS Boy's Soccer, Boy's Swimming (4th -12th grade), Girls Swimming (4th - 12 grade) & HS Girls Soccer. For the 2012/2013 school year there is quite a full schedule. To begin with, we will travel to Senegal for the WAISAL swim meet, which is followed by competitions in Burkina Faso for HS Volleyball & MS Soccer in Abuja, Nigeria. AISL will be hosting the WAISAL basketball tournament in February. HS Soccer will travel to Ghana for WAISAL Soccer in April while the Middle School will travel to Burkina Faso for both Math Counts & Volleyball in March.
Competitive sports begin in elementary school (4th & 5th grade), with swimming, basketball & soccer, and continue to a full schedule of sports teams in the middle and high school.
